Duncan had no idea what was up with the mask, and wondered if his somehow got swapped with Roger's. The thought occurred to him too late to check though, as they were already in the water. He had already managed to make it work anyway, but at the expense of entirely clear vision. When he realized it was still leaking, he started considering just throwing it away.

He was glad he didn't actually have to breath, or else the swim might have been even more irritating. He was never in high school swim class. He knew how to stay afloat, and that was about it, so by the time they made it a quarter mile out, he was ready to call it a day.

After a few attempts and a long period of sucking in his paunch, Roger finally managed to drag himself into the wetsuit. He was sure that if blood had still been pumping through his veins he’d be covered in bruises; the tight, firm suit had been difficult to pull over his thin, loose skin without pushing up uncomfortable folds throughout his body. He was now like old piece of fruit, when the skin had begun to work itself away from the flesh and would come off with just one touch, that had been wrapped in cellophane.

Trying his best to recall his high school swim classes, and a little annoyed that it wasn't particularly practical to use his favoured breast stroke while carrying a bag full of equipment, it was with great difficulty and more than a few mouthfuls of brine that he soldiered on with his front crawl across the quarter mile of ocean in front of him.

After everyone had been squared away completely it got easier to understand Ed's plan. You put your wetsuits to work right away. The only hiccup was that somehow Duncan's mask didn't fit him right even though he tested it in the church (and everyone seen him do it) and had it working fine then. Ed explained that Mr. Murphy seemed to be along for the ride so he was going to be extra cautious. Away from the pier by almost a quarter mile, Ed left his truck with some guy he knew named Mario. It was then immediately in the water with all of your gear. The quarter mile swim was the fun part.

OOC: Make me Stamina rolls at Difficulty 7 (because you're carrying stuff too). You need 3 successes to not be fatigued at all.
