The two covenants effectively agreed they'd be better off without megalomaniac refugees from a fallen city trying to steal influence. But since the Lancea Sanctum needs this alliance just a little more than the Ordo Dracul do, and with you as their spokesperson, you had a little space there to bend things to your liking.
